The Simplex 4008 is a legacy suppression panel. Replacement boards are no longer manufactured. A full system upgrade is highly recommended.

Common Simplex 4008 Trouble Codes

  • IDNET FAULT: A physical break or short in the signaling line circuit wiring is preventing the main control board from communicating with the downstream addressable devices.
  • BATTERY TROUBLE: The backup power supply batteries are completely disconnected, missing, or failing to hold the required standby voltage during an automated load test.
  • GROUND FAULT: A bare field wire on an initiating loop or notification circuit has made unauthorized contact with a grounded metal backbox or conduit.
  • NAC TROUBLE: A notification appliance circuit has a wiring break or short that will prevent the horns and strobes from sounding during an emergency.
